The Catalan Patio

The patio and its unusual fountain

Breakfast is served in a large, unusual patio (90m2) with a mosaic fountain (Gaudí style). Our guest rooms are arranged around the patio.

History of the patio

The shape and dimensions of this fountain resulted from a consideration of the proportions of the existing space and the open sky through which light descends into the patio. The fountain's circular form contrasts with the square shape of the patio and its rounded edges blend seamlessly with the surrounding arcades. The mosaic decoration was created using minerals and glass paste for certain colors.

The artist (Mizrahi) has created other mosaic fountains, notably in Collioure, and other works, some of which occupy public spaces, such as in Barcarès and Saint-Cyprien.
